Can I use the 8X Banff-Lake Louise service if I do not have a reservation?

  • Yes, approximately 40% of seats on every departure are left unreserved and are available on a first come first served basis.

  • Wait times can be up to 2 hours in the summer.

  • Your entire group must be present before joining the ‘walk-up’ line and prepared to wait in line until seat(s) become available.

  • Using the 8X service as a walk-up does not grant you access to Moraine Lake.

Will Route 10 be operating this year?

No, we will not be running route 10 in 2026. Riders can purchase a Super Pass to access Moraine Lake via Lake Lousie Lakeshore from June 1st – October 12th, 2026.
